Kauai Backcountry Adventures knows the magic that happens when the awesome scenery of Kauai meets exciting adventures. They are an adventure company that is unique to Hawaii with Hawaii’s only Tubing Tour with zipline adventures and more as well. But they needed the world to see what made them special. 

    Kauai Backcountry Adventures was looking to further differentiate itself from the competition and increase market share in a highly saturated tour market on the island. Jaxon Communications was selected to engage in a partnership with Kauai Backcountry Adventures to elevate their social media presence.

    Challenge

    Kauai Backcountry Adventures’ social media efforts were handled in-house at the time and it became clear that a team of professionals would be needed to boost their reach, engagement, and overall social media presence. They came up against a challenge when trying to connect with younger consumers while managing their Instagram accounts, thus preventing their reach from growing as they wanted. While Kauai Backcountry Adventures had already amassed a decent Facebook presence, it was their goal to see the same success translate to Instagram. Where once they spent their marketing budget on traditional marketing channels, mostly print publications, Kauai Backcountry Adventures saw the importance of shifting to digital marketing via social media-focused strategies that would be cost-efficient and have greater reach.

    Increased social media exposure led to media placements in major publications like the LA Times, Travel Weekly, Travel-Pulse, and Hawaii Magazine.

    Jaxon Communications was able to represent KBA’s brand accurately to a younger demographic of 25 to 35-year-olds.

    KBA’s social media presence continues to grow every day, and their tours are consistently booked more than one month in advance, thanks to social media marketing.

    These efforts lead to increased Engagement Rates as well as Reach in target markets like the mainland US, Australia, Canada, and Japan, inspiring customers while they are still making their travel plans.
